T2015-025 Introducing innovative stretchable RFID devices with a broad impedance bandwidth, addressing the critical limitations of existing RFID systems in environments with variable characteristics.

The Need

Current passive UHF RFID systems falter in environments with fluctuating pressure, stress, and temperature due to their sensitivity to antenna deformation caused by changes in dielectric constant. A pressing need exists for stretchable RFID devices capable of operating seamlessly in diverse conditions, providing reliable inventory tracking and item identification.

The Technology

Our stretchable RFID devices feature a flexible design with a broad impedance bandwidth. Consisting of an RFID chip and antenna, the device ensures electrical and mechanical stability even in dynamic environments. The RFID antenna incorporates end-loading bodies that surround orifices, allowing stretchability without compromising the device's performance.

Commercial Applications

  • Inventory Tracking: Enable efficient and accurate tracking of items in warehouses and manufacturing plants.
  • Healthcare: Facilitate patient monitoring with stretchable RFID devices integrated into medical equipment.
  • Retail: Enhance the customer shopping experience by implementing seamless and reliable inventory management.
  • Logistics: Streamline supply chain operations with RFID devices that adapt to varying environmental conditions.
  • Smart Packaging: Embed stretchable RFID devices in packaging materials for real-time tracking and authentication.

Benefits/Advantages

  • Broad Impedance Bandwidth: Ensure consistent performance in environments with changing dielectric constants.
  • Increased Read Range: Experience enhanced RFID read range performance for improved tracking accuracy.
  • Flexibility and Durability: Maintain operational integrity in harsh conditions without compromising device flexibility.
  • Endurance to Environmental Changes: Withstand variations in pressure, stress, and temperature, preventing antenna deformation.
  • Versatility: Deploy stretchable RFID devices across industries with dynamic environmental conditions for diverse applications.
