Magnetic Resonance Imaging (“MRI”) is one of the most important modern medical imaging modalities. It has far less risk of side effects than most other imaging modalities. Generally, a high quality image requires high signal-to-noise ratio, high contrast between normal and pathological tissues, low levels of artifact, and reasonable and acceptable spatial-temporal resolution which is often achieved through the use of contrast agents.

The Need

MRI contrast agents are a group of contrast media used to improve the visibility of internal body structures in MR images. Contrast agents have been widely used to detect tissue pathology for diagnosing various diseases or evaluating therapeutic response using MRI. Conventionally, the sensitivity of contrast agent MRI imaging is improved by increasing the dose of the contrast and high field imaging. However, these methods may introduce side effects and can result in additional safety risk for patients and increased MRI operation costs.

The Technology

This technology utilizes techniques to optimize imaging protocols for both 2D and 3D acquisitions by focusing on changes in the tissue based on analysis of before and after contrast agent administration images. Using advanced simulation techniques, our method tailors imaging parameters and acquisition times to maximize lesion enhancement and contrast agent concentration. Incorporating precise contrast agent timing and utilization, we enable clinicians to capture high-quality images that provide unprecedented insights into lesion tissue and healthy structures.

Commercial Applications

Our technology is applicable across a spectrum of clinical applications using MRI , including neurological disease diagnosis, liver disease detection, thoracic, abdominal, and pelvic imaging, disease staging and monitoring, therapeutic planning.

Benefits/Advantages

  • Improves MRI scan diagnosis efficiency and detection sensitivity of various diseases.
  • Reduced dosage of contrast agent, reducing patient risk.
  • Reduced the scan time of brain imaging with the contrast agent 50% without

the penalty of image quality reduction after the administration of contrast agents

  • Empowers medical professionals with a tool that redefines the capabilities of contrast agent MRI by optimizing imaging protocols and enhancing sensitivity, to increase diagnostic accuracy, disease monitoring, and therapeutic planning.
