T2019-214 This software solution revolutionizes the process of tolerance stack analysis in mechanical assemblies. It automatically detects and extracts tolerance stacks as the foundational step for precise tolerance analysis and schema generation.

This software solution revolutionizes the process of tolerance stack analysis in mechanical assemblies. It automatically detects and extracts tolerance stacks as the foundational step for precise tolerance analysis and schema generation.

The Need

Analyzing tolerance stacks in mechanical assemblies accurately is critical for ensuring optimal assembly conditions. Our software addresses this need by identifying assembly features, incorporating local and global constraints, and determining directions of control, forming the critical elements required for comprehensive tolerance analysis.

The Technology

This software utilizes an advanced data structure known as the aCTF graph. This structure captures the essential data for tolerance analysis without relying on the complete geometry information of the CAD model. The software focuses on identifying assembly features, local constraints, global constraints, and feature patterns, aligning seamlessly with the ASME Y14.5M Dimensioning and Tolerancing Standard.

Commercial Applications

This stand-alone, versatile software module can be seamlessly integrated into any software requiring the definition of tolerance stacks. It can be utilized for metrology, gap size simulation, tolerance allocation, or verification, giving engineering processes precision and adaptability. While currently optimized for the aCTF data structure, the software can be tailored to integrate with diverse CAD models and data structures.

Benefits/Advantages

Compared to existing software, the software for tolerance stack analysis provides efficiency and adaptability, streamlined processes, and integration flexibility. Its unique utilization of the aCTF graph data structure offers a distinct advantage, allowing for precise tolerance analysis without the need for complete CAD model geometry information, setting it apart from traditional tools.
