The Need: With the persistent threat of avian diseases, ensuring the health and safety of turkey populations is of utmost importance to the poultry industry. Traditional methods of disease prevention have limitations, necessitating a technology that can reliably produce Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) turkey eggs for various applications, including vaccine development and research studies.

The Technology: Since the 1970s,our CFAH turkey line has been utilized for the production of Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) turkey eggs. Through meticulous artificial insemination and stringent biosecurity measures, eggs from this lineage are collected under controlled conditions, guaranteeing the absence of harmful pathogens. These SPF turkey eggs serve as a vital resource for vaccine development and a wide range of research studies in the field of avian health.

Commercial Applications:

  • Vaccine development for avian diseases such as Avian Influenza, Salmonella, and Campylobacter.
  • Research studies investigating the genetics and immunity of turkeys in controlled environments.
  • Production of disease-free turkey poults for commercial turkey farming operations.

Benefits/Advantages:

  • Assurance of pathogen-free eggs: SPF turkey eggs from the CFAH line provide a reliable source of disease-free material for various applications.
  • Accelerated vaccine development: Access to SPF eggs expedites the process of vaccine development by eliminating the need for pathogen removal or inactivation steps.
  • Enhanced research capabilities: Researchers benefit from working with SPF eggs, allowing for more accurate and reproducible experimental results.
