Ohio State Startup Mobikit Acquired by Azuga

Azuga, a leading global provider of vehicle analytics, fleet technologies and insurtech solutions, has extended its investment in the insurtech space by combining forces with Mobikit, an insurance data science and analytics company based on technology spun out from Ohio State. The acquisition delivers a new SaaS platform to accelerate the benefits and insights telematics, AI, video and vehicle data offers Carriers, MGAs, Brokers and other insurance providers.

Mobikit is an Ohio State startup founded in 2019 by Arnab Nandi, an associate professor in the College of Engineering's Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Mobikit provides data infrastructure for connected vehicle management systems. The adoption of fully autonomous vehicles will dramatically shift the mobility experience and is projected to create 22 billion hours of additional in-vehicle daily media consumption. Nandi also co-founded the OHI/O Hackathon and Informal Learning Program that hosts some of the region’s largest hackathons to foster a tech culture amongst students. He is also a co-founder of the STEAM Factory, an interdisciplinary network for research collaboration and dissemination.
